PRESTON & SOUTH RIBBLE FAIRTRADE GROUP

Within the Preston and South Ribble area we aim to increase awareness of Fair Trade and encourage the use of fairly traded products. Fair Trade provides workers with a fair price for their products and decent working conditions. This is one of the most effective ways of fighting poverty in the developing world.

Members of the groups which support Fair Trade joined together for action during Fairtrade Fortnight in 2001. These groups are Cafod, Christian Aid, Tearfund, Traidcraft, Townswomen's Guild, Women's Institute and World Development Movement. These members continued to meet and formed The Preston and South Ribble Fairtrade Group to continue the objectives of Fairtrade Fortnight. (Click here to read about the group's work)
