Fairtrade-The
Difference
I am rich, she
is poor
I go to school, she does not
I get a good education, she does not
I don't have to work, she works for 60p a day
I know how to read and write, she does not
I have my own land to grow my own food on, she has not
I have a lot of food, she has not
I have got clean water, she has not
I get medical attention, she does not
I work for Fairtrade and get paid fairly, she does not
I have hope, she does not

Fairtrade
Thanks Fairtrade
For the things you gave
To stop us going
To an early grave
Fairtrade is starting
Starting to give
The things to all
To ensure that we live
Fairtrade gave
us
An education for our time
To make all the things
I lost become mine
Now we have pumps
And things are all clean at last
Anbd the new things work
Better than those in the past

And finally a
rap written by Robert, Joe, Sam, Toby, Alex and Jonathan from Year
6 (2003), Our Lady & St Edward's Catholic Primary School, Fulwood,
following a talk on Fairtrade
Fairtrade
Rap
Once upon a time
in Garnere (pronounced garny-A)
Everyone was getting rubbish
pay
And even though the people were mega poor
At every job they got shown the door
But
then along came Fairtrade man
And gave people money to buy food like lamb
And over in Ethiopia
People were getting poorer
Because without fairtrade
They couldn't get paid
They had to flog things from the street
Just so they get things to eat
They didn't want lamb
They were working to get a sewing machine
Running past cars, giving them a clean
There was a child called
sam the man
He worked in a quarry to chop up stone
But when he got nothing to eat he turned into skin and bone
So go out now and buy Fairtrade
choc
And stop children smashing up rock.
